Frequently Asked Questions
What is Linklex?
Linklex is a truly unique general purpose, collaborative search engine. Linklex allows you to search the Web and find relevant results, but unlike other search engines, it also allows you to save, reuse, influence and share your search results. In order to accomplish this, Linklex uses linklogs to facilitate the interaction with search engine result pages (SERPs).
What is a linklog?
A linklog is a collection of links (hyperlinks) that the user considers interesting. [1] It is a type of blog [2] where postings are limited to just one link per entry and a title. Optionally, some further description may be given.
These collections of hyperlinks are typically listed in reverse chronological order. Instead, Linklex's linklogs are listed or grouped by common keywords or "search tags".
Why linklogs? Why this approach?
Linklogs offer an ideal format for saving search engine result pages (SERPs). They are also intuitive, since users are already accustomed to interacting with search results as a list of hyperlinks. Linklogs are also a convenient way to reuse and share search results and can be used to save bookmarks or favorites as well.
What are the benefits of using Linklex?
Searching the Web can be tedious and repetitive. Using existing search engine technologies, you cannot take advantage of previous search queries or learn from the knowledge acquired by others who have sought for the same search results. Using the power of linklogs, Linklex helps to overcome these typical search obstacles while allowing users to maintain control of their privacy.
Linklex provides an effective mean to store SERPs, which allow results to be reused and shared, thus creating an effective solution to wasted time from repeated search queries.
I would like to use Linklex; what should I do?
Linklex is not yet available to the general public, but we are conducting a private beta testing program. During this test period, Linklex will only be available to a small number of people. If you would like to try Linklex, register to participate in this program and be one of the first to discover why Linklogging is better than Searching TM.
